Principles
- Easy Access to Transport System and Mobility: Development of an integrated road network under CM GRIDS (URBAN) will provide mobility to all modes of transport, due to which easy access for the public to the transport system will be available.
- Roads for All: Roads developed under CM GRIDS (URBAN) will be accessible, friendly and safe for everyone including pedestrians, cyclists and especially abled citizens.
- Innovative Use of Roadside Spaces: Efficient use of road space will be promoted by exploring solutions such as car-free zones, smart parking systems and shared mobility options under CM GRIDS (URBAN).
- Stakeholder and Citizen Participation: Local communities, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders will be involved in the development of roads, so that roads can be developed according to their needs and concerns.
- Sensitivity to Local Context: Roads will be developed considering factors like area-specific social, cultural, ecological, historical and heritage importance.
- Convergence Amongst Departments: For the successful implementation of the scheme, on-going schemes of various State/Central Government and efforts of concerned departments shall be converged.
